Beginning with its launch, Proliant Dairy Ingredients has experienced rapid growth. Driven by expanding markets and innovation opportunities, Proliant recently announced the additions of Daniel Landero and Zahid Mozaffar to its management team.
As sales of VersiLac®, Proliant’s highly versatile and innovative dairy ingredient, have taken off in Latin America, it became apparent that more local resources were needed. Daniel Landero, Regional Manager for Latin America, comes to the Proliant Dairy team after working in product development, applications research, and business development in Mexico. He will lead Proliant’s new office in Queretaro, Mexico and will direct the development of VersiLac® in Central and South America. Daniel commented, “I am excited to start a new challenge with Proliant Dairy, and to build on the current success in Mexico and throughout all of Latin America. This is a great opportunity to work for a proven company with a unique product that is growing quickly.”
While sales of VersiLac® continue to expand, so are Proliant’s opportunities for innovation. Zahid Mozaffar, Ph.D., comes to Proliant with a unique experience combination in enzymology and protein fractionation, including extensive work in both dairy and soy protein and protein by-products. As Director of Innovation, Zahid will be responsible for leading Proliant’s efforts targeting new product development, continuous quality improvement, and technical market support. According to Zahid, “I am coming to Proliant Dairy at a unique time, with the opportunity to extend the success of VersiLac® into new products and categories. I’m looking forward to helping the Proliant team continue to grow its business and product portfolio, as well as diversify into new customers and markets.”
According to Chris Snyder, Proliant Dairy’s President and CEO, “We are very proud to welcome both Daniel and Zahid to the Proliant team. Since we started as a dairy ingredients company, Proliant has been committed to aggressively growing the business through superior product quality, customer service, and innovation. Daniel has a great opportunity as we expand our efforts in Central and South America. With the completion of the new technical center (Lauridsen Advancement Building/L.A.B.), Zahid will be able to leverage his broad experience in a state-of-the-art research facility.” The L.A.B. is a $10 million, 21,000 square foot, multi-function innovation facility built by Proliant and its parent company, Lauridsen Group Incorporated.
VersiLac® is a highly versatile and innovative dairy ingredient, and is the result of a unique combination of raw materials and a proprietary production process. Containing over 86% lactose, VersiLac® provides food formulators a high quality, low cost, dairy-based alternative to many higher priced dairy ingredients, including lactose, whey powder, and nonfat dry milk / skim milk powder in a variety of food systems, all while maintaining a consistent dairy-based label. In addition to dairy ingredients, VersiLac® has been proven to replace or reduce the amount of salt, sugar, chocolate and a variety of other non-dairy ingredients. With four different labeling options, VersiLac® even provides versatility in labeling.
