Following routine sampling by the Washington state Department of Agriculture last month, Spanish Sonrise Dairy in Yacolt recalled its whole raw milk with a best by date of Aug. 23 because of E. Coli.
The Department of Agriculture told customers not to drink the milk and return it for a full refund.
The incident is not the first time Spanish Sonrise Dairy owners Tina and Jose Rodriguez have had to recall their milk products. In 2015 raw milk and cream products were recalled after similar testing revealed listeria monocytogenes contamination. At the time, the couple said they were closing the company, but did not.
Anyone who has consumed raw dairy products from Spanish Sonrise Dairy recently and is showing signs of an E. coli infection should tell their doctor.
