US #Milk Production Rises 1% in October From A Year Ago

Milk production in the US was up 1% year-on-year for the month of October according to the latest monthly milk production report released by the USDA.
In October, there was 13,000 more cows in milk than at the same time last season, while per cow production was also slightly higher this October than during October 2012.
Production in California and Wisconsin, the two largest milk producing states, were up by 1% and 0.9% respectively in the month of October. Meanwhile growth rates of 5% or above were recorded for October in a number of states including: Florida, Indiana, Kansas, and Utah.
