The Secretary for International Relations of Agribusiness of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Map), Odilson Ribeiro e Silva, said on Tuesday (18) that Brazil and Russia are working to bring bilateral agricultural trade out of US $ 5 billion to $ 10 billion over five years.
The statement was made during the meeting.

The Secretary for International Relations of Agribusiness of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Map), Odilson Ribeiro e Silva, said on Tuesday (18) that Brazil and Russia are working to bring bilateral agricultural trade out of US $ 5 billion to $ 10 billion over five years.
The statement was made during the meeting of the 4th Brazil-Russia Agrarian Committee . On Wednesday (19), at 3 pm, Minister Blairo Maggi will have an audience with Russia’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Evgueny Gromyko, to reinforce the Brazilian government’s desire to expand agricultural business with Russia.
The Brazilian government has expressed its interest in expanding the meat market (beef, pork and chicken) and dairy products. Russia has expressed its intention to export fish, mainly cod.
Brazil has already licensed three Russian fish establishments. Meanwhile, Russia wants to expand that number to over 108 fishing outlets.
In addition to bilateral trade, participants discussed the granting of prelisting, when the country’s health authorities indicate the exporting establishments to the importing country. They also dealt with investments, scientific and technological cooperation and participation in fairs and congresses to promote agribusiness products to increase bilateral trade.
The next meeting between the two countries will be in 2018 in Russia.
