A campaign training and discussion was held at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry on January 9, and guest speakers gave a presentation on the operations of a new powdered milk processing facility.
The session was attended by dairy farmers, researchers, and dairy industry entrepreneurs, as well as Prime Minister J.Erdenebat.
The plant’s processing equipment was made in Japan, and the facility is able to produce powdered milk from 600 liters of fresh milk within eight hours.
The PM pointed out that establishing powdered milk processing factories in each soum could be of significant importance to maintaining stabile prices for dairy products and increasing herders’ profits.
He added that domestic powdered milk processing factories could not only meet the needs Mongolian consumers, but could also lead to the export of Mongolian dairy products. Mongolia currently imports over 4,000 tons of powdered milk.
Establishing powdered milk processing factories in soums could result in the creation of 6,000 to 8,000 jobs.
