Mr Handley said UDF was the one larger processor in the UK unwilling to talk to or co-operate with FFA.“It begs the question what have they got to hide, yet they expect to take large GB cheese orders at their farmer members’ expense by poor returns in their milk cheques – something that FFA will not tolerate.â€
William Taylor, FFA UK NI co-ordinator, said the feeling that UDF management was out of touch with most of their members’ financial needs, was underscored by the number of members handing in their resignations over United’s persistent position at the bottom of the NI milk price league.
“FFA UK are 100 per cent behind the founding principles of UDF – principals which need reinstating immediately to benefit the Northern Ireland dairy farmers,†said Mr Taylor.
