Financial support ranging from $500 to $5,000 is available for groups operating near any of Fonterra Australia’s milk collection or manufacturing sites.
The initiative has supported over 340 community grioups since 2011, including the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club, who received funding for vital equipment.
Dean Kilpatrick, Junior Co-ordinator of the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club, said the new equipment has helped members carry out beach patrols and run the Nipper program.
“We are thankful for Fonterra’s support which is helping us keep our community safe,” he said. “The process to apply for the grant was a lot easier than we thought, and it’s definitely been worth it.”
