Feds announce $350M for dairy industry

The federal government is committing $250 million for dairy farmers and $100 million for processors to help the dairy industry adjust to the increased competition expected when the Canada-EU Trade Agreement comes into force. By Laura Payton.

The $250 million is budgeted over five years to help dairy farmers improve their operations, while the $100 million for processors is budgeted over four years to help processors modernize.
The Conservatives had pledged $4.3 billion, but that included the projected impact of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which is now in limbo.
