Eberle, Levzow Appointed to National Dairy Board

Two longtime members of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board are among 12 recent appointees to the USDA's Dairy Promotion and Research Board. Stacy Eberle of Monroe and Becky Levzow from Rio were selected to serve three-year terms on the panel. The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, composed of 36 dairy farmers representing 13 regions of the contiguous United States, administers a coordinated program of promotion, research and nutrition education. It was first authorized in 1983 to design programs to strengthen the dairy industry’s position in domestic and foreign markets.
The program is financed by a mandatory 15-cent per hundredweight assessment on all milk marketed commercially and a 7.5-cent per hundredweight assessment on milk and dairy products imported into the U.S.
