The Dairygold move comes following milk price rise announcements from both Glanbia and Lakeland Dairies in the past week.
Glanbia announced that it will pay its members 26c/L for September milk supplies.
The Glanbia milk price is inclusive of a 1c/L of support from Glanbia Co-operative to its members.
The Glanbia announcement came on the back of a decision by the board of Lakeland Dairies to also increase its base price by 1c/l bringing its price to 26c/L including VAT.
Global Dairy Trade
Dairygold’s announcement comes as today’s Global Dairy Trade auction saw overall prices rise, but the rise was lower than expected in some quarters.
Overall prices were up 1.4pc on the last auction of October 4, but overall prices remained under the important UD$3,000/t mark at US$2,965/t.
The main price movers in the auction were WMP which was up 2.9pc and lactose which was up 5.6pc.
However, SMP was down 0.3pc and cheddar was down 3.7pc.
