The balance between the need to find savings and the desire to grow the agricultural industry has proved difficult for the government, Mr McQueen said.
“While we were prepared for a no-frills budget offering limited spending initiatives, we are pleased the government has delivered on some priorities,” Mr McQueen said.
The positives include the instant asset write off extension, Regional Growth Fund, extended eligibility for Farm Business Concessional Loans Scheme and gas supply affordability.
Mr McQueen’s concerns are around visa fee changes, where businesses turning over less than $10 million are required pay up front.
