Chinese dairy company interested in Kyrgyzstan’s market

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov as part of his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos (Switzerland), met with Zhang Jianqiu, the Executive President of the Yili Industrial Group (China).
The sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in agriculture, in particular, investment in dairy industry of the country, Kabar with reference to the press service of the Government reported.
The Head of Government presented general information on current state and prospects for further development of the domestic dairy industry. The Prime Minister said that with the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), new opportunities for expanding its enterprises have opened up for domestic producers of dairy products, which in the long run will positively affect the development of the industry as a whole.
The Executive President of Yili Industrial Group, Zhang Jianqiu stressed that the company is interested in entering the Kyrgyz market and expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to conduct joint research on the prospects of investing in the country’s domestic market and studying the feasibility of producing milk powder and other types of dairy products in Kyrgyzstan.
