Biery Cheese Co. has purchased Wisconsin-based Kickapoo Valley Cheese.
Terms of the deal, which closed Friday and was announced Monday, weren’t released.
Ben Biery, chief executive officer for Biery Cheese, said in a press release announcing the deal that both companies share a belief in service and innovation of packaging, coupled with generations of experience.
«Continuing with our tradition of growth, this addition will help us strategically position our company to service our existing customers along with developing new customers,» Biery said in the announcement.
Kickapoo Valley Cheese is based in Sherry, Wis. It was founded in 1978 after Arnold Leytus bought a small dairy and converted the building into a cheese packaging facility, according to the company’s website. The company specializes in packaging Wisconsin cheeses.
Leytus said Biery Cheese met his criteria as an owner for the company he founded. «They are a fine company with an impressive growth curve, an excellent reputation, and a desire to participate in the Wisconsin dairy industry,» Leytus said in the press release.
Biery Cheese started in 1929 when Norman F. Biery began making and selling Swiss cheese in Louisville. The company now packages, processes and distributes cheese, providing chunks, shreds, slices, cubes and snacking cheeses for customers.
