Economic Research Service Statistician Jerry Cessna says total consumption in 2016 fell to 49-point-7 million pounds, but within that study, whole milk. flavored milk and eggnog consumption went up. Demand for 2%, 1%, skim, and buttermilk consumption went down.
ERS statistics show whole milk consumption last year rose more than a billion pounds, and whole flavored milk rose about 41 million pounds. Non-whole favored kinds of milk went up nearly 100 million pounds.
