Mr Wilkie, who is the business development director with Muller Milk and Ingredients, is a former Chairman of both the Dairy Council and the Milk Marketing Forum, as well as the European Dairy Association Liquid Milk Group.
He is also past president of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs, and is a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies. He serves as Depute Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Vice President of the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland, and is director of both Agriscot and Hamilton Park Racecourse.
The award was presented as part of SGF’s 99th Annual Conference, and chief executive, Pete Cheema, said: “Very few people have made such an outstanding contribution to their own industry sector and to the independent convenience store sector. We were delighted to bestow this award on Sandy: it will ensure that he will continue to have a strong connection to the Federation and its members for many years to come.”
