The company said the camel products are now officially available in selected retail outlets throughout the UAE under the Camelait brand.
«This is a monumental achievement not only in the history of Al Ain Dairy, but the UAE as a whole,» said Al Ain Dairy CEO Abdullah Saif Al Darmaki.
Al Ain Dairy said it has «blazed through uncharted territory» with the development of Camelait brand camel milk ice cream.
Handling the complex proteins of camel milk in the pasteurization process to produce ice cream was a major challenge, said the company which now offers flavours including date, saffron, cardamom, chocolate, caramel and lite raspberry vanilla.
«As the demand for naturally nutritious products continually rises in European and North American markets, we feel the presence for our Camelait products is necessary now more than ever,» said Darmaki.
«And with new studies showing promising medical benefits of camel milk, it is our mission to ensure these locally produced products are available to consumers around the world,» he added.
The ice cream and milk powder products are the latestto be sold under the Camelait brand which was introduced in the UAE with the inception of the Al Ain Dairy camel farm in 2004.
