#TGD: Preliminary May All-Milk Price At $19.80

The United States Department of Agriculture reported that the preliminary May all-milk is $19.80/cwt, up 30¢ from April and $3.60 from a year ago.
USDA also announced the April Milk Income Loss Contract (MILC) payment rate at 70 cents/cwt. The March rate was 75 cents; February 52 cents, and January, 12 cents. The adjusted April feed price was $12.68/cwt, down 25 cents from March
The California all-milk price for May was reported at $18.30/cwt, the lowest of the 23 major dairy states. The Wisconsin all-milk price $20.50; Idaho, $19.90; New York, $20.60 and Pennsylvania, $21. Florida had the highest price, at $22.70/cwt.
USDA also reported the preliminary national average price of alfalfa at $221/ton, up $6 over April.
