Glanbia Nutritionals Ingredient Technologies has announced it will build a 40,000 sq. ft. cereal ingredient processing facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The facility will produce whole and milled flaxseed ingredients for the food and beverage industries. It will replace the company’s plant in Angusville, Manitoba which was destroyed by fire in March 2012.
Company president Jerry O’Dea says Sioux Falls was selected as the location for the facility because of its proximity to the Canadian Flax growing region, its transportation infrastructure, convenience and support from state and local leaders.
The new facility in Sioux Falls will produce MeadowPure® Quality whole and milled flaxseed ingredients as well as other seed and grain products. The facility is expected to be operational by July 2013.
