Farmer Tim Prime used his plough to carve out the letters F*** MG on his property after the company announced it was closing the local Kiewa factory in the state’s north-east.
Mr Prime decided to try his hand at paddock art after speaking to his friend Kyle Lochhead, who uttered the phrase in a phone conversation when they heard the factory was lost.
«I thought ‘oh well, yep, everyone else is probably thinking that too’,» Mr Prime said.
The farmer said that he thought it would cheer up Mr Lochhead by writing his words into the paddock he was working.
Despite its size, Mr Prime said it did not take long to do.
«I had to stop when I got to the Murray Goulburn logo and look up on the internet to make sure I got that right. It turned out pretty well in the end,» he said.
For the full effect, the two farmers used a drone to see if the writing was straight.
«When we got a bit of a look at it, it turns out it was a lot better than we thought it was going to be,» the farmer said.
A photo of the paddock has shot the farmers to social media fame.
But less than a week after it was made, it has already gone.
«We’ve got to sow some oats so we can make more milk for Murray Goulburn,» Mr Prime said.
