Glanbia announces a 2c/L increase in milk price, but warns uncertainties remain in market

It has announced a November milk price of 30c/L, up 2c/L on the October milk price, which was also up 2c/L on the September milk price.
It announced today that it will pay its member suppliers 30c/L including VAT for November manufacturing milk supplies. This price is inclusive of a 1/cl Glanbia Co-operative Society support payment to its members.
Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) has increased its base price by 2c/L to 29c/L including VAT for manufacturing milk at 3.6pc fat and 3.3pc protein.
The Board of Glanbia Co-operative Society has decided to pay its members a support payment of 1.0 cpl (including VAT) for November manufacturing and liquid milk supplies.
It said that recent milk supply reductions in key production regions have led to a swift and very welcome recovery in dairy market prices, but that a number of uncertainties remain in the global environment.
It comes as Lakeland Dairies announced it had increased its milk price by 2c/L to over 29c/L VAT inclusive for November milk.
An additional 3c/L for the voluntary out of season milk production scheme makes a price of over 32c/L for November milk.
