The Fonterra board’s inquiry into issues around the company’s botulism contamination scare has appointed a further independent member – University of Auckland vice-chancellor Stuart McCutcheon.
Inquiry chairman and Fonterra director Sir Ralph Norris said the committee had confirmed terms of reference.
Prof McCutcheon joins retired High Court judge Dame Judith Potter as an independent member of the inquiry committee, alongside five Fonterra directors and Chapman Tripp QC Jack Hodder who is reviewing events for the committee.
The committee has also appointed Jacob Heida, an overseas expert in whey production processes and standards for infant food ingredients to assist with technical aspects of Hodder’s review.
Heida is a member of the disciplinary committee of the Netherlands controlling authority for milk and milk products.
Sir Ralph said the committee would announce its findings when its deliberations are complete.
