FONTERRA has corrected reports about a rise in the price of its Riverina Fresh milk.
«Reports today of a 40 per cent increase in the wholesale price of Riverina fresh milk are not correct,» a spokesman for the dairy processor said.
«We have announced a price rise for our wholesale customers in the range of 5 per cent and this will be effective from 1 August 2013.
«This is the first price increase for Riverina Fresh milk in over 2 years.»
Reports this morning of the rise in the price of the branded milk quickly spread throughout the dairy industry.
