Fonterra says Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have received none of the whey protein products which have triggered a ban on its exports to those countries.
China, the main dairy market, suspended imports of Fonterra whey protein concentrate and base powder last week following the botulism contamination alert.
But Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have gone further in stopping imports of all Fonterra dairy products as a precautionary measure.
Fonterra said on Tuesday it has supplied none of the potentially contaminated whey protein concentrate or products containing it to those markets.
It mainly exports butter and cheese to the Russian market , none of which contain whey protein concentrate.
The company said it’s working closely with the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to reassure them of the safety of its products.
